This is my best perfume after receiving one from my cousin in the UK
I've never owned Shalimar, never even tried it as far as I can recall. But I was using a Guerlain mini set years ago when I visited Paris. I remember it contained Insolence, Idylle, La Petite Robe Noire and ?one other. Maybe that's why Shalimar evokes massive scent memories for me and puts me right back in Paris. There must be some sort of shared DNA. The upshot is, Shalimar is strong, bold, deep, , not for shy people, possibly too dated (70s and 80s) and extremely French! It smells like petrol initially but soon the magic starts to work. I am so happy to have rediscovered many happy memories made in Paris.
